Q:
What was your “welcome to soaps” moment?
Hillary B Smith (Nora): “When I was 16 and growing up in Palm Beach, Florida,
David O’Brien [ex-Steve, THE DOCTORS] was doing a play down there and ended up
at the restaurant that I was at. I walked up to him and said, ‘I’m a huge fan
of yours and I want to be an actress and I want to do soap operas. Is there any
advice you can give me?’ He said, ‘ You just have to get an agent. Find your
way to New York…I have a feeling I’ll see you again.’ Cut to many years later
and I got the part [of Kit] on THE DOCTORS. The first scene I had was with
David O’Brien! I went, ‘I don’t know if you remember me,’ and he looked at me
and said, ‘I was waiting for you to show up.’”
