Hillary's Holiday Miracle
One Life to Live Emmy winner
Hillary B. Smith was fully prepared to be axed this month. After all, her
coma-stricken character, Nora, was rarely seen this year and youth-obsessed ABC
is firing veteran actors like mad. But get this: The network has handed her a
new four-year deal and a promise that Nora’s fan-pleasing bitch-feud with
Lindsay (Catherine Hickland) will be revived. Word is, they’ll squabble over
Nora’s ex-hubby Bo. And this’ll be good for laughs: Come March, Nora will be
forced to move in with that ornery ol’ fart Asa (Phil Carey). “When I got the
call from ABC I sputtered and spewed and said, ‘Are you out of your minds? This
doesn’t make sense!’ But I’ve very excited,” Smith says, “Especially to work
with Catherine again. Baby, the gloves are coming off!”
